Lambert was born in Sevres France in 1877. He is primarily a landscapist and is best known for his delicate refined palette. This plein air painting entitled "Les Jardins de Versaille" is dated 1902, and transposes a blindingly luminous summer afternoon into dabs and splashes of hazy yellows, greens and mauves. Works by Lambert are held by the museum of Bucharest and the museum of Sevres.
