D. T. Richard was born in Buenos Aires, but spent most of his life in Italy and in France where he settled permanently in 1934. In 1968, Richard was awarded the "Grand Prix International de la Peinture". He is a self-taught artist with a very personal style, a painter of light and shadow who often juxtaposed pale and dark paint to create an atmosphere of mystery. Richard’s nudes do not shock the eye, which only retains their refinement and elegance. The artist’s talent and sensibility allow him to approach the subject of nudes long thought of as audacious and taboo. D.T. Richard’s works are in collections in France, Italy, England, the United States, Belgium and Germany.
