Original etching and drypoint printed in brown ink on copperplate paper with full margins. Hand signed by the artist “Kathe Kollwitz” in pencil, lower right. The rejected first version of the third plate from "Bauernkrieg" cycle. From an edition before the 50 numbered proofs of 1918 Richter edition. A fine impression in excellent condition, apart from the 5/8" inch repaired tear, bottom center margin, far removed from the image.
