Son of the famous impressionist painter, Paulemile learned the art of painting from his father Camille Pissarro. As a child, he followed his father in his wandering through landscapes and rustic scenes, across Normandie and the Ile-de-France. When Camille Pissarro died in 1903 Paulemile, due to financial circumstances, put aside his love for painting and became a mechanic in the thriving automobile industry. He eventually abandoned his job and found his way back to the career his father bequeathed to him. Admiring Claude Monet’s work, Paulemile became his student. His works were exhibited at the Salon des Independants, Salon d’Automne, and Salon des Tuileries.
